Product Development Coordinator – Kids Division
The Product Development Coordinator works alongside the Associate Manager to manage the full seasonal development cycle—from initial concept through final approvals by partnering closely with Design, Production, Sales, Technical Design, and overseas offices. The role ensures all product submissions meet brand standards, are executed accurately, and stay on calendar.
Responsibilities- Attend key milestone meetings with the Design team to understand the brand vision prior to initiating the tech pack process.
- Partner directly with overseas vendors to review and approve product development submissions including lab dips, strike-offs, artwork placements, sales samples, and preproduction samples.
- Ensure all submissions meet quality, aesthetic, and brand standards.
- Evaluate initial tech packs in PLM, ensuring all details are executable by factories.
- Participate in scheduled prototyping review meetings with the Design team to review garment constructions, design details, and art placement ensuring the actual garment reflects the designer’s vision.
- Collaborate with Design and Technical Design to ensure construction, details, trims, and art placement reflect design intent.
- Work with Design, Production, and Sales to ensure development remains on schedule.
- Uphold design integrity throughout all rounds of development until final approval.
- Catalog and maintain fabric, print, and trim standard libraries for future reference.
- Maintain seasonal approval charts and ensure PLM accuracy for assigned categories.
- Comprehensive understanding of the entire Product Development cycle and milestones.
- Experience working with performance/active wear fabric and garments a plus.
- Working knowledge of garment construction, sewing techniques, and seam classifications.
- Technical knowledge of fabric qualities, finishes, printing, color science, and embellishment techniques.
- Understanding of Child Safety Guidelines for Kids apparel.
- Ability to multi‑task, meet deadlines; detail‑oriented, organized, and adaptable.
- Proficient in FlexPLM and Microsoft Office;
Adobe Illustrator knowledge a plus. - Superior organizational and communication skills; team oriented.
- Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, high‑performance environment while maintaining accuracy and accountability.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred (Product Development or related major).
- 3+ years of product development or relevant apparel experience.
