Senior Designer - New York, New York - $125,000 - On Site

R2 are partnered with an emerging retail brand as they build out their catalog across men's, women's and children's apparel.

They are on the look out for a senior designer to own specs and fit from initial concept through final fit approval. You ll be the technical authority on construction and fit consistency across the category, working cross-functionally with Design, Merchandising, Sourcing, and vendor partners.

• Partner with Design and Merchandising to translate design intent into accurate, cost-engineered specs and construction methods for bulk production.
• Lead fit sessions to develop silhouette, proportion, and brand aesthetic within target price points.
• Troubleshoot fit and construction issues spanning fabrication, grading, and cost engineering.
• Communicate fit intent and revisions to overseas and domestic vendor partners via fit notes, quarter-scale pattern corrections, and digital documentation.
• Evaluate prototypes and fit samples for measurement, construction, and quality accuracy against brand standards.
• Maintain fit and construction consistency across vendors within a category.
• Manage calendar milestones and flag production, quality, or costing risks proactively, with root-cause analysis where needed.

• Strong technical design experience.
• Experience in pattern making, product engineering, garment construction, or grading.
• Working knowledge of PLM systems and pattern/3D software.
• Ability to work cross functionally and manage multi-stage projects and deadlines.
• BA in Apparel Design, Technical Design, or related field.
