Job Overview

Architect - Lead complex architectural projects from concept through closeout, focusing on workplace, high‑end retail, and large‑scale adaptive reuse for public‑sector clients. Utilize deep technical expertise and tools such as Revit, Adobe Suite, Bluebeam, and AutoCAD to deliver code‑compliant, sustainable, and detail‑rich design solutions.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and participate in all phases of architectural projects – programming, conceptual design, schematic design, design development, construction documentation, and project closeout.
  • Conduct thorough programming activities to understand client needs, functional requirements, and user experience goals, translating them into clear design concepts and space plans.
  • Develop design solutions that balance aesthetics, functionality, constructability, and sustainability, aligning with project goals and site conditions.
  • Perform ADA and building code reviews to ensure compliance with accessibility and life‑safety regulations.
  • Coordinate with MEP and other engineering disciplines to integrate building systems and resolve technical conflicts before construction.
  • Prepare detailed technical drawings, specifications, and construction documents in Revit, ensuring accuracy and consistency across all deliverables.
  • Lead or support permitting processes, prepare required documentation, respond to plan check comments, and collaborate with authorities having jurisdiction.
  • Select furniture, fixtures, and equipment (FFE) that align with project intent, budget, and performance requirements, coordinating with vendors and consultants as needed.
  • Review submittals, shop drawings, and product data to confirm conformance with design intent and specifications, providing timely feedback to teams and contractors.
  • Respond to RFIs during construction, providing clear clarifications, sketches, and directives to support efficient delivery.
  • Oversee or support project closeout activities, including punch lists, as‑built documentation, and verification that design and quality standards are met.
  • Work on workplace, high‑end retail, or large‑scale adaptive reuse projects for government agencies, adapting design approaches to meet different programmatic and operational needs.
  • Collaborate closely with internal teams, consultants, and contractors to maintain strong communication and resolve design and coordination issues.
  • Use Revit, Adobe Suite, Bluebeam, and related tools to produce and review design presentations, construction documents, and coordination drawings.
  • Apply knowledge of sustainability frameworks and best practices to inform design decisions and support project sustainability goals.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of design standards, documentation quality, and project delivery processes within the practice.
Essential Skills
  • Professional degree in Architecture or Interior Design.
  • 8+ years of experience in all project phases including programming, design, ADA and code review, MEP coordination, permitting, detailing, FFE selection, submittal and RFI review, and project closeout.
  • Proficiency in Revit for design development, documentation, and coordination.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Suite for design presentations, diagrams, and visual communication.
  • Proficiency in Bluebeam for reviewing, marking up, and coordinating construction documents.
  • Experience with workplace and high‑end retail projects or large‑scale adaptive reuse projects for government agencies.
  • Strong experience producing and coordinating construction documents for ground‑up and interior projects.
  • Solid understanding of ADA requirements and building codes as they relate to architectural design and documentation.
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate architectural work with MEP and other engineering disciplines.
  • Strong technical detailing skills and experience in developing buildable, well‑coordinated details.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and project phases while maintaining attention to detail and quality.
