Joseph Vance Architects (JVA) is an award‑winning architecture firm located in Chelsea that specializes in high‑end single‑family residential projects. With over 30 years of experience in townhouse renovations, new ground‑up townhouses, landmark restorations, and large apartment renovations, our small, collaborative team strives for well‑crafted design and pushes the boundaries of each project.
Responsibilities- Lead your own projects under the direction of the principal and with the support of the team.
- Generate designs and presentations.
- Produce construction drawings and details.
- Ensure compliance with building codes and industry standards.
- Manage schedules and coordinate clients, contractors, expeditors, consultants, city agencies, and vendors.
- Execute construction administration, including review of shop drawings and submittals.
- 9+ years of architectural experience.
- Proven leadership ability to take a project from concept through construction while managing multiple projects simultaneously.
- Experience with NYC residential projects and all phases of architecture.
- High proficiency with 3D modeling or BIM software (Revit, Sketch Up, or Archicad) and Adobe Creative Suite.
- Track record of successfully managing two or more projects at a time.
- Knowledge of NYC building codes, zoning, and LPC.
- Strong conceptual, design, and detailing skills.
Benefits include a full‑time salaried position with fully paid individual health insurance, competitive PTO, and a base salary starting at $110,000+ commensurate with experience.
