Apparel Designer

Location: New York

Bring your design talent to a fast-paced apparel team working on cut and sew knits and sweaters for sleep and lounge, with an added focus on speed. This onsite New York opportunity offers the chance to create original concepts, contribute to seasonal direction, and collaborate closely with sourcing and materials teams on a 6-month contract.
Responsibilities

• Develop original design concepts inspired by fashion trends, color direction, and fabric innovation
• Create sketches and contribute to seasonal design presentations
• Analyze market and fashion trends to support new product ideas
• Partner with sourcing and materials development teams throughout the design process
• Provide basic fit and body block guidance as needed
• Participate in fit sessions and help refine designs based on feedback
• Work collaboratively with design leadership and cross-functional partners

Skills

• Bachelor's degree in Design or equivalent experience
• Relevant design experience in apparel
• Experience with cut and sew knits and/or sweaters
• Strong understanding of fashion trends, style development, and fabric selection
• Ability to create clear sketches and present design ideas effectively
• Collaborative mindset and strong communication skills
• Attention to detail and the ability to work in a fast-moving environment

Preferred Skills

• Women's wear experience
• Experience designing sleep and lounge apparel
• Background in sweaters design
• Comfort working onsite and contributing to a team-based workflow
• Ability to balance creativity with practical product development needs
