ULI WAGNER DESIGN LAB is a Brooklyn-based design studio founded in 2011 by Uli Wagner, whose background spans architecture and product design. The practice specializes in residential planning, contemporary work environments, and high-end retail design, offering custom, innovative solutions across scales of spatial planning. Role Description

The Project Architect is a full-time, on-site role based in Brooklyn, NY, responsible for leading architectural and interior design projects from concept through completion. This role involves developing design concepts, preparing presentations and detailed drawings and construction documents. The Project Architect will manage submittals, collaborate with consultants and contractors, and ensure that design intent, quality, and project schedules are maintained. Day-to-day tasks include participating in client meetings, interpreting program requirements, and supporting project management activities such as budgeting, scheduling, and documentation.

The position requires active involvement in all phases of design and construction to deliver tailored residential, workplace, and retail environments.

Qualifications
  • Strong foundation in Architecture, including design development, construction documentation, and detailing.
  • Proficiency with design, presentation and documentation software, like Sketch Up, Rhino and AutoCAD.
  • Experience managing submittals and coordinating with consultants, contractors, and vendors throughout all project phases.
  • Demonstrated project management skills, including scheduling, budget awareness, and organization of project deliverables.
  • Professional degree in Architecture and progress toward or completion of architectural licensure preferred.
  • Excellent visual, written, and verbal communication skills, with ability to present design ideas clearly to clients and teams.
  • Experience with NYC codes and permitting processes, and familiarity with high-end residential, workplace, or retail projects is a plus.
  • Ability to collaborate in a studio environment, take initiative, and manage multiple projects or deadlines simultaneously.
