Lead Architect

Overview

We are working with a very reputable architecture firm, sought after by both private developers and public institutions, known for a range of large-scale work across all sectors, including cultural, higher education, and mixed-use.

The firm is looking to add a Senior Technical Architect to the team as an office resource. This is not a day to day production role. It is a senior position built around quality, precision, and mentorship, for someone who wants their technical expertise to shape how an entire office builds.

This role is located in New York City, with a hybrid schedule of 3 days in the office.

The Senior Technical Architect will lead quality control on active projects, act as the go to resource for design staff on tricky code and detailing questions, and help build out the firm's technical standards over time. Mentorship is a real part of the job, including training and presentations for project teams.

• Bachelor of Architecture, Master preferred
• Registered Architect with 10+ years of experience managing projects from design to construction on projects of varying size and types
• Deep knowledge of materials, construction types, and detailing, including current energy code impacts on envelope design
• Strong command of building codes and the ability to problem solve complex design and technical issues
• Excellent communicator, patient, and genuinely enjoys teaching and mentoring others
