Position: Garment Designer – Junior Apparel (Cut & Sew Knit Division)
Location: New York

Position Overview

We are seeking a talented designer to join our Cut & Sew Knit division.

The ideal candidate will have experience in the fashion industry, with a focus on junior apparel, and a strong ability to collaborate across teams. If you have previous experience and you are interested in taking your career to the next adventure, we encourage you to apply today!

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate closely with Sales and Buyers to align designs with market trends.
  • Demonstrate a positive attitude and work effectively as a team player.
  • Conceptualize and design garments in line with current trends, specifically for the Junior brand.
  • Create initial CAD sketches for presentation to Sales and Buyers.
  • Conduct sample shopping, both in person and online, from European and domestic markets to identify emerging trends.
  • Present and merchandise print, color, silhouette, fabrication, and trend ideas for upcoming seasons.
  • Coordinate with costing teams to create recap charts for customer projects.
  • Organize original and proto-sample charts and manage showroom displays.
  • Review and provide feedback on proto sample layouts and lab dips.
  • Maintain strong communication with Buyers, Sales, and Factories.
  • Develop tech packs, including proto specs, detail pages, and BOM follow-up.
  • Participate in fittings with Technical Design and Production teams to ensure proper garment fit.
  • Review spec measurements and provide fitting adjustment recommendations.
  • Manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment while prioritizing deadlines.
  • Strong knowledge of Cut & Sew Knits in various fabrications.
Qualifications
  • 5+ years of design experience in the fashion industry.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Illustrator, and Outlook.
  • Experience with Walmart or Kohl’s is a plus.
