The candidate should have strong design skills and be organized, professional, and familiar with industry standards, including project timelines, vendors, and product deliveries. This position collaborates directly with the head of Interior Design, contributing High-end FF&E expertise and managing key aspects of projects independently
.
Working on client presentations:
- Create design concepts in collaboration with Principal and senior team members.
- Hand draw and/or draft floor plans, elevations, and renderings.
- Specify finishes, plumbing, hardware, and appliances and investigate costs and lead times.
- FF&E sourcing from a wide range of sources, from local designers to auction houses.
- Design fabric stories – check stock, lead-time, request CFAs, etc.
- Prepare design drawings for fabrication and coordination – custom furniture and lighting, rugs, window treatments, etc.
Processing orders from inception to final delivery:
- Confident using Studio Designer.
- Request estimates, pricing, lead times, and freight costs for furnishings and materials selected.
- Prepare accurate proposals for clients and track client and vendor payments in Studio Designer.
- Maintain running Excel budgets.
- Proactively identify, address and resolve challenges and issues, collaborating and keeping the team informed.
- Track orders and Warehouse receipt.
- Coordinate site visits, final deliveries, and install with workrooms and the warehouse team.
- BA or MA in Interior Design, Furniture Design, or Architecture.
- 4+ years of demonstrated Interior Design experience in high-end design is required.
- Cultivated a strong network of high-end vendors and craftspeople.
- 2D and 3D sketching by hand.
- Proficient in Sketchup and Studio Designer.
- Experience in ArchiCAD a plus.
- Knowledge of high-end vendors and craftspeople.
