Oliver Cope Architect LLC is an established residential architecture firm specializing in custom homes, townhouse renovations, and high-end residential projects. Since 1988, we have designed carefully crafted residences in a wide range of architectural styles, from traditional country estates to contemporary homes, with a commitment to thoughtful design and exceptional detailing.
Our studio of approximately fifteen professionals offers the collaborative culture of a mid-sized design practice while providing the opportunity to work on complex, design-driven residential projects from concept through construction.
We are seeking an Intermediate Architectural Designer with 5+ years of professional experience with at least 2 years of residential construction document experience who is passionate about residential design, enjoys solving technical challenges, and wants meaningful involvement throughout all phases of project delivery.
What You’ll Do- New single family home construction
- Major residential renovations and additions
- NYC apartment renovations
- Townhouse restorations and renovations
- Participate in all phases of design and project delivery, from Schematic Design through Construction Administration
- Develop detailed construction documents and technical drawing sets
- Create 3D models and architectural renderings
- Coordinate structural, mechanical, and consultant information
- Conduct product, material, and systems research
- Review shop drawings and assist with quality control
- Collaborate closely with Project Managers, consultants, and clients
- Contribute to the successful realization of thoughtfully designed custom homes and renovations
- Bachelor of Architecture (B.Arch.) or Master of Architecture (M.Arch.) degree from an accredited institution
- 5+ years of professional experience with significant residential project exposure and at least 2 years of residential construction document experience.
- Strong understanding of construction documentation and detailing
- Excellent organizational, written, and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented studio environment
- Authorization to work in the United States
- CAD proficiency
- Residential Construction Document experience
- Construction Administration experience
- Strong technical detailing skills
- Passion for high-end residential architecture
- Work on custom high-end residential projects with substantial construction budgets
