Intermediate Architectural Designer - High-End Residential

Oliver Cope Architect LLC is an established residential architecture firm specializing in custom homes, townhouse renovations, and high-end residential projects. Since 1988, we have designed carefully crafted residences in a wide range of architectural styles, from traditional country estates to contemporary homes, with a commitment to thoughtful design and exceptional detailing.

Our studio of approximately fifteen professionals offers the collaborative culture of a mid-sized design practice while providing the opportunity to work on complex, design-driven residential projects from concept through construction.

We are seeking an Intermediate Architectural Designer with 5+ years of professional experience with at least 2 years of residential construction document experience who is passionate about residential design, enjoys solving technical challenges, and wants meaningful involvement throughout all phases of project delivery.

As a key member of a project team, you will contribute to a variety of custom residential projects, including:

• New single family home construction
• Major residential renovations and additions
• NYC apartment renovations
• Townhouse restorations and renovations

You will have the opportunity to:

• Participate in all phases of design and project delivery, from Schematic Design through Construction Administration
• Develop detailed construction documents and technical drawing sets
• Create 3D models and architectural renderings
• Coordinate structural, mechanical, and consultant information
• Conduct product, material, and systems research
• Review shop drawings and assist with quality control
• Collaborate closely with Project Managers, consultants, and clients
• Contribute to the successful realization of thoughtfully designed custom homes and renovations

We are looking for someone with:

• Bachelor of Architecture (B.Arch.) or Master of Architecture (M.Arch.) degree from an accredited institution
• 5+ years of professional experience with significant residential project exposure and at least 2 years of residential construction document experience.
• Strong understanding of construction documentation and detailing
• Excellent organizational, written, and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented studio environment
• Authorization to work in the United States
