Store Designer | Global Beauty Company

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Freelance Store Designer will be responsible for the ideation and creation of store environments in all retail channels. Ability to communicate design ideas through sketches, renderings, using various programs. Focused on both design development and project management. Must be passionate about interior design in concepting mood boards, specifying material and material research. Liaison and assist global partners in rolling out concept design.

Must be amenable to change and work with accelerated delivery timelines.

• Initiate conceptual designs and floor plans to be reviewed with the ED, Global Store Design
• Create renderings and models to convey design intent
• Develop CAD fixture and floor plans (schematic design and design drawings)
• Material research and mood board development for store concept
• Responsible for managing multiple projects simultaneously
• Concepting and ideating new ideas while maintaining brand language
• Review and redline Architectural drawing sets and millwork shop drawings for accuracy of design intent and execution
• Provide design support to regional partners
• Ability to review and redline shop drawings and design documents.
• Partner closely with Visual Merchandising team to ensure store experience is cohesive
• Collaborate closely with interdepartmental teams, including Visual Merchandising, Events, Image

• Bachelors or Masters degree with a design focus (B.Arch, M.Arch, BFA or BS in Interior Design)
• Knowledge in materials and finishes, fixture development, and architectural details
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Photoshop are a must, Microsoft Office Applications, Sketchup and/or Rhino, 3DS Max and Key Shot is a plus
• Strong communication skills
• Previous experience with retail design is REQUIRED*
• Self-starter with strong leadership skills
• Minimum of 6 years experience in a design field - retail design preferred, but not mandatory
