Wayfinding & Environmental Graphic Designer

, you will leverage your growing expertise in environmental design while owning projects from concept to completion. You will play a vital role in crafting detailed way finding solutions that integrate seamlessly into various environments, contributing to the firm’s ongoing success.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design Fluency
    :
    Build on your foundational understanding of design, drawing production, and code fundamentals to produce precise and innovative way finding solutions. You will work on a variety of projects, including transportation, healthcare, education, and public spaces, ensuring designs are functional and aesthetically refined.
  • Project Ownership
    :
    Take responsibility for the full lifecycle of design projects, ensuring deadlines are met and deliverables align with client expectations. Your strong attention to detail will ensure the accuracy and quality of all design elements, from schematic development to construction documentation.
  • Collaborative Teamwork
    :
    Work closely with design directors, project managers, and other team members to develop and execute design plans. You’ll communicate clearly and proactively, ensuring that collaboration across the team is positive and solution-oriented.
  • Adaptability & Problem Solving
    :
    Be resourceful and flexible, adjusting to project needs while maintaining a high level of enthusiasm. You will participate in on-site signage audits and project coordination meetings, ensuring design intent is fully understood and executed in collaboration with other disciplines.
  • Mentorship & Leadership
    :
    While mastering the fundamentals, you’ll also develop leadership capabilities by transitioning from leading yourself to increasing team awareness. You’ll demonstrate a drive for success and consistency in delivering high‑quality results.
Qualifications:
  • Experience
    : 3-6 years of experience in way finding or environmental graphic design.
  • Education
    : A 4-year bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Industrial Design, Architecture, or a related field.
  • Design Skills
    :
    Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop) and familiarity with CAD tools. Knowledge of Sign Agent Pro is a plus.
  • Technical Knowledge
    :
    Strong understanding of architectural drawings, spatial design, and fabrication methods.
  • Personal Attributes
    : A self‑motivated, resourceful attitude with a commitment to learning and growing in the field.
  • Requirements:
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • High attention to detail and a solution‑driven mindset.

  • Experience with signage standards and code regulations.

  • Only candidates authorized to work in the U.S. will be considered.
  • This is a full‑time hybrid position (3 days in office). Candidates must have easy access to New York City and the surrounding area, as local travel for meetings or site visits will not be reimbursed.
  • Benefits, including paid time off, healthcare, an HSA, and a 401(k) retirement plan with employer matching, are available after 3 months.
