Stackwell is an investment app focused on getting multicultural individuals into the financial markets. We are dedicated to increasing financial wellness and asset ownership among emerging wealth builders, whom we call Stackers. Our platform provides automated portfolio construction to simplify investing, financial wellness education to increase investor confidence, and science-based engagement tools to drive behavioral change and financial goals realization. By addressing cultural, social, and emotional barriers to financial inclusion, Stackwell is helping our communities build wealth and thrive.
With the successful completion of its Series A funding round, the company is well-positioned for accelerated growth in 2026 and beyond.
We are seeking a Product & Brand Designer based in New York City to own the design of the Stackwell experience, from the core product to key elements of the brand and visual language that carries it into the world. This is an individual contributor role reporting to the VP of Product and sitting on the Product team, for a designer who brings a genuine point of view on where the design should go and the confidence to drive that conversation.
You're not waiting to be told what to design; you're shaping it.
The heart of this role is product design: partnering closely with the Product Manager and Engineering team to ship polished, cohesive app experiences for the Gen Z and millennial multicultural wealth builders we serve. From that foundation, you'll extend a single, consistent visual language outward into our educational content and the brand and campaign work that helps the company grow. You think of Stackwell as one connected experience, and you make every surface of it feel intentional and on-brand.
You'll also establish and own the systems that make design consistent and scalable. You'll collaborate day-to-day with Product and Engineering, support the Learning team on educational experiences, and collaborate with the Chief Marketing Officer and Growth team to ensure brand cohesion across everything our Stackers see as the brand evolves.
What You'll Do Design and Ship the Product- Translate product requirements and user research into thoughtful, polished designs for mobile app features across onboarding, investing, education, and engagement flows.
- Collaborate with the Product Manager on UX flows, interaction patterns, and product experiences that balance learner engagement with ease of use.
- Conduct design QA before engineering handoff, ensuring what gets built looks and feels right.
- Come to weekly engineering meetings with design decisions already made, so the team can build confidently rather in real time.
- Develop flow diagrams and wireframes that translate product logic into something the full team can read and align on.
- Create and maintain a component library and design system so that button styles, spacing, and screen consistency are owned, not improvised.
- Drive the visual direction of the Stackwell app, developing a point of view on where the brand and product experience should evolve and leading that conversation proactively.
- Help establish the standards and reusable assets that keep every Stackwell surface visually consistent, whether it lives in the product, in an email, or in a partner deck.
While Product design is the primary focus for this role, Stackwell shows up in many places beyond the app, and a connected, on-brand experience matters everywhere. A portion of your time will be spent bringing the same craft you apply to the product to the visual work that helps Stackwell grow and serve partners, collaborating with the CMO, Growth team, and other designers to:
- Produce high-quality visual assets for educational content, including article headers, playlist illustrations, learning-series graphics, and other in-app educational materials.
- Design creative assets that carry the product's visual language into marketing (e.g. social, email, and advertising graphics that feature the product)
- Create partner-and program-facing…
