Hudson Union is a small but growing architecture studio working with private clients, real estate developers, and retail/fitness brands. We are seeking a motivated Design Intern in their final year of a
B.Arch, M.Arch, or Interior Design program to join our team and contribute to our projects.
Because we are a small studio, every team member—including interns—has the opportunity to participate in all aspects of our practice: from early design concepts through construction, as well as day-to-day operations. You’ll gain exposure to the full lifecycle of projects, collaborate closely with Hudson Union’s co-founders, and develop practical skills across design and project management.
Responsibilities- Assist with site surveys, field measurements, and documentation of existing conditions.
- Support the development of presentations, RFP proposals, and design meeting materials.
- Contribute to the production of construction documents and related drawings.
- Conduct material and product research; help organize and maintain the material library and trade resources.
- Provide support for project logistics, such as ordering samples, coordinating deliveries, or running errands when needed.
- Help maintain general office organization and assist with administrative tasks to keep operations running smoothly.
- Enrollment in a
B.Arch, M.Arch, or Interior Design program (final year preferred). - Proficiency in AutoCAD required; familiarity with Revit preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) and Adobe Acrobat or Bluebeam.
- Experience with the Adobe Creative Suite preferred.
- Strong interest in learning about building codes, regulations, and technical documentation.
- For Interior Design candidates: interest in commercial FF&E development and/or a future in architecture is desirable.
- For Architecture candidates: interest in interior design integration and professional licensure is desirable.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and proactive with strong follow-through.
- Collaborative mindset, willingness to learn, and ability to manage multiple tasks.
- Compensation: $20–$25/hour
