Design Intern — Architecture / Interior Design

Hudson Union Architecture Studio — New York, NY (In-person, Part-time)

Hudson Union is a small but growing architecture studio working with private clients, real estate developers, and retail/fitness brands. We are seeking a motivated Design Intern in their final year of a

Because we are a small studio, every team member—including interns—has the opportunity to participate in all aspects of our practice: from early design concepts through construction, as well as day-to-day operations. You’ll gain exposure to the full lifecycle of projects, collaborate closely with Hudson Union’s co-founders, and develop practical skills across design and project management.

  • Support the development of presentations, RFP proposals, and design meeting materials.
  • Contribute to the production of construction documents and related drawings.
  • Conduct material and product research; help organize and maintain the material library and trade resources.
  • Provide support for project logistics, such as ordering samples, coordinating deliveries, or running errands when needed.
  • Help maintain general office organization and assist with administrative tasks to keep operations running smoothly.

  • Enrollment in a

B.Arch, M.Arch, or Interior Design program (final year preferred).
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD required; familiarity with Revit preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) and Adobe Acrobat or Bluebeam.
  • Experience with the Adobe Creative Suite preferred.
  • Strong interest in learning about building codes, regulations, and technical documentation.
  • For Interior Design candidates: interest in commercial FF&E development and/or a future in architecture is desirable.
  • For Architecture candidates: interest in interior design integration and professional licensure is desirable.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and proactive with strong follow-through.
  • Collaborative mindset, willingness to learn, and ability to manage multiple tasks.
