Jewelry CAD Designer About the Role
At Tiffany & Co., joy is central to everything we do. Tiffany and Company has an opening for a Jewelry CAD Designer at our Jewelry Design and Innovation Workshop (JDIW). Centrally located on East 23rd Street in New York City, the position offers a dynamic work environment and use of cutting edge technology to inspire the creation of meticulously crafted products.
ResponsibilitiesPrototype & File Creation
- Interface with Design Creative, Manufacturing & JDIW teams on product functionality and technical design elements.
- Translate Design Concepts into 3D Finished Goods Level CAD models.
- Create, maintain and organize 2-D, 3-D shared design standards and specifications.
- Prepare Finished Good Drawings and technical illustrations.
- Create presentation quality artwork including photo-realistic renderings in V-Ray, Keyshot, Maxwell, Photoshop, and Illustrator.
- Establish and monitor individual timelines and ensure adherence to project deadlines.
- Communicate effectively to keep team updated on project status.
- Proactively flag critical issues for design and manufacturing consideration.
- Partner with JDIW and design team to oversee process from concept through product development.
- Interface with Director, Manager, Designers and cross-functional departments.
- Support internal and external suppliers as needed.
- Bachelors degree or diploma in Jewelry Design, Jewelry Arts, Industrial or Fashion Design, or Engineering.
- Expert skill-set in Rhino, Modo, Solid Works, T-Splines, Z-Brush, Adobe CS, Key Shot, V-Ray, Maxwell.
- Manufacturing knowledge of jewelry and/or other related industries.
- Formal creative design training with high degree of aesthetic sensibility.
- Extensive experience working with diverse materials and gemstones/diamonds.
- Excellent written and verbal communication.
- Formal goldsmithing and/or metalsmithing training.
- 3-5 Years experience as a custom bench jeweler.
- Gemological training with GIA or FGA diploma.
