Madison Worth Architecture D.P.C. is seeking a Senior Technical Architect with substantial experience in luxury residential ground-up architecture to join our New York City office.

, award-winning landscape architects, leading builders, artisans, fabricators, and consultants to create elegant, highly detailed homes. Our offices are located in New York City and Palm Beach, Florida, and we work throughout New York, Greenwich, Palm Beach, Long Island, Newport, and other select locations.
We are looking for a technically strong architect who understands how complex, high-end houses are designed, documented, coordinated, and built. Understand the integration of complex structure and HVAC with small tolerances and knowledge of low-voltage control systems for lighting, shades, AV etc. The ideal candidate has deep experience with ground-up new residential construction, exterior envelope detailing, consultant coordination, construction documents, code review, permitting, and construction administration.
This position is best suited for someone who enjoys the discipline of architecture: clear drawings, coordinated details, rigorous documentation, and the practical problem-solving required to bring exceptional residential projects to completion.
Responsibilities- Lead and develop construction documents for luxury ground-up residential projects and historic renovations.
- Coordinate architectural drawings with structural, MEP, civil, landscape, lighting, AV/security, and specialty consultants.
- Develop and review technical details for exterior walls, roofs, windows, doors, waterproofing, foundations, terraces, stairs, and complex interior architectural conditions.
- Manage drawing sets through design development, construction documents, permitting, bidding, and construction administration.
- Review shop drawings, submittals, RFIs, and field conditions with accuracy and judgment.
- Work closely with principals, project managers, engineer, consultants, and builders/fabricators
- Help mentor junior staff in technical documentation, detailing, coordination, and construction standards.
- Maintain high standards for drawing quality, organization, accuracy, and completeness.
- Professional degree in Architecture.
- 8+ years of professional experience, with significant experience in luxury residential architecture.
- Experience with ground-up residential construction
- Licensed architect preferred but not required.
- Excellent AutoCAD skills required
- Revit, Sketch Up, Adobe Creative Suite, and rendering experience are a plus.
- Strong knowledge of construction assemblies, detailing, building systems, waterproofing, code compliance, and consultant coordination.
- Experience with high-end residential clients, custom homes, historic renovations, or highly detailed traditional architecture preferred.
- Ability to lead technical documentation while remaining collaborative, organized, and responsive.
- Clear communication skills and the ability to work directly with builders, consultants, vendors, and senior leadership.
