Design Associate - Footwear

Design Department Assistant

This position assists the Designer and Design Director in the day-to-day operations of the design department.

Major Responsibilities:

• Creates swatch books for all fabrics, trim, used in design
• Maintains an up-to-date picture record of all samples and also an up-to-date file of all names and style numbers
• Checks in all orders received and handles all shipping
• Keeps all sample rooms organized
• Tracks all sample orders, and ad samples
• Collaborates in sketching and detailing
• Collaborates in designing the product line
• Creates line sheets
• Preparation of correspondences, spreadsheets, and forms
• Communicates with vendors
• Assists in the confirmation process
• Assists in brand direction and trend forecasting
• Domestic and international travel
• Special projects as needed
• Other duties as required

Education, Licenses, Certificates, Registrations and/or

Experience:

• College degree in Arts/Fashion preferred
• Ability to sketch and CAD
• 2-4 years experience in the field
• Creative background a plus
• Proficiency Microsoft Office, especially Word, Excel, Photoshop, and Illustrator
