Brand/Product Focus: French Connection - Men's
Location (On-Site): New York City, Midtown Manhattan – Fashion District
Success Profile:
The Technical Designer is responsible for ensuring that design vision is translated into a well-constructed and manufacturable garment that reflects French Connection brand’s esthetics and design integrity. As a member of the Technical Design team, you will conduct fit sessions, communicate fit session to vendors, G-III global offices and work cross-functionally to ensure accuracy of garment measurements, fit, construction details and flow of information while addressing any technical challenges during the development and production process.
Responsibilities- Measure garments and organize for fittings
- Coordinate fit schedule and conduct fittings
- Create initial spec to final full graded spec
- Consult with designer to work on complicated garment construction and establish the fit for each brand
- Input in Tech packs with corrections / comments during fitting
- Create and manage Work In Progress reports
- Coordinate the production / delivery schedule weekly and coordinate fitting and fit samples accordingly
- Email / follow-up as needed with over-seas vendors
- Organize and maintain seasonal trim card library
- 4+ years of apparel Technical Design experience
- Prior technical design experience with menswear or related apparel category
- BA/BS Degree required or AA Fashion Degree
- Functional basic knowledge in technical fit & construction
- Sketch technical in Illustrator
- Ability to work in team environment
- Super Detailed and Organized
- Computer literate – Excel, Illustrator, Photoshop. PDM and PLM knowledge is a plus

The pay range for this position is: $85,000 - $95,000 per year
