Junior Interior Designer
INPUT
· New York, NY
· In-office with remote Fridays
INPUT is a New York interior design firm working in luxury multifamily and condominium development across the city. We begin every project with three questions: why is this building the way it is, who will live here, and how must the space work to serve them. The answer is different every time, which is why the work never repeats a look.
The portfolio runs from four-unit boutique condominiums in No
Lita and Brooklyn Heights to 600-unit rental developments in Gowanus, with active projects across Manhattan and Brooklyn at every stage from concept through construction. As a junior designer here you won't be parked on one building for a year. You'll be close to the decisions that actually shape a project, the materials, the furniture, the details that survive from concept to construction, across work that just earned the firm a 2026 NYCxDesign Awards Finalist nod and both principals a NYSID Rising Star Award.
This is a role for someone early in their career who wants to learn how design intent becomes a finished building, not just a rendering.
What you'll do- Lead FF&E research, sourcing, and vendor coordination
- Work with senior designers on furniture, lighting, fabric, and accessory selections that hold the project's design direction
- Build client presentations, material and finish schedules, and design documentation
- Review design details, finishes, and customizations during furniture production, and catch the small deviations before they become built mistakes
- Confirm final products match what was specified, and flag or resolve what doesn't
- Own your deadlines and keep senior staff informed, with regular direction as you grow into the work
- Professional degree in interior design
- 1 to 2 years of experience, internships count
- Genuine care for how spaces are built, not just how they photograph
- Organized enough to hold every moving part of your piece of a project
- Clear, timely communication with the team
- Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, Sketch Up, Excel, and the Adobe and G-suite
- Eligibility to work in the United States
This is an in-office position at our Manhattan office, with remote Fridays.
