Seeking an experienced Architectural Woodwork Drafting Manager to lead the technical design, millwork detailing, and production of shop drawings for custom cabinetry, architectural woodwork, wall paneling, and fine furniture. This role serves as the bridge between design intent, engineering requirements, and shop-floor fabrication, ensuring projects are delivered accurately, on budget, and in accordance with quality and field conditions.
Responsibilities- Millwork Detailing:
Develop and oversee the creation of precise shop drawings and detailed architectural woodwork documentation. - Design Coordination:
Translate architectural and interior design concepts into buildable, structurally sound millwork solutions. - Field Verification:
Coordinate and verify site measurements and field dimensions prior to fabrication and production. - Material Selection:
Specify appropriate materials, hardware, and finishes in accordance with project requirements and performance standards. - Production Oversight:
Provide technical guidance to drafting personnel and communicate fabrication requirements directly with manufacturing teams. - Quality Control:
Review submittals, mock-ups, shop drawings, and completed assemblies to ensure compliance with project specifications and quality standards.
- Experience:
Minimum of 6 years of experience in architectural woodwork, millwork drafting, custom cabinetry, or high-end residential/commercial construction. - Software
Skills:
Proficiency in AutoCAD is required. Experience with Revit and/or specialized millwork or cabinetry design software is preferred. - Technical Knowledge:
Strong understanding of woodworking methods, joinery systems, fabrication processes, woodworking machinery, and finishing techniques. - Communication:
Ability to effectively collaborate with project managers, contractors, field personnel, designers, architects, and manufacturing teams.
