Position OverviewThe Development Coordinator supports the Design team’s development and production workflow by owning WIP setup and tracking, bulk tech pack distribution, BOMs, and sample and market-review logistics. This role partners closely with the Design, Development, and Production teams throughout the season to keep development on schedule, from initial WIP setup through bulk approval.
The ideal candidate is highly organized and detail-oriented, with strong follow-through on trims, samples, and tech packs across multiple concurrent style groups. This individual can manage competing deadlines, keep documentation accurate and current, and communicate clearly with designers, sourcing, and factories.
Key Responsibilities WIP & Timeline Management- Set up all initial WIPs and manage their flow and formatting
- Assist in keeping up print charts for development and bulk, and following up on strike-off dates
- Assist in building development and bulk print approval binders
- Build WIP for knits
- Assist with the full organization and keeping of trims
- Assist building the seasonal development trim & fabric binder, including trim approvals
- Assist building the bulk fabric & trim binders, and keeping all approvals organized
- Follow up/record trim price updates
- Attend all vendor meetings and take swatches, photos, for sourcing requests
- Assist with note-taking and sample holding during market review
- Check in all protos and SMS samples
- Handle stock pulls and returns
- Organize the SMS rack for the showroom meeting, in line-sheet order (and/or supervise the Design Intern)
- Work with Design, Production, and showroom on SMS flow for photoshoots
- Update and send all bulk tech packs to factories at the start of each season (centralized responsibility, previously split across multiple team members)
- Own BOMs (Bill of Materials tech pack updates), with checks from the Design team
- Support the weekly Design department cleanup every Friday
- Support special projects such as GWPS, exclusive, and event merchandise
- Help facilitate storage runs for Sample Sale once enough samples are collected
- Fabric pricing and FDS chasing, full management of fabric chart
- Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design, Textile Development, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- 2-4 years of experience in apparel development, or production support
- Experience with WIP tracking, tech packs, and sample workflows in a fashion or apparel setting
- Working knowledge of trims, fabrics, and BOM structure
- Familiarity with tech pack construction and revisions
- Comfortable managing multiple trackers and binders across concurrent style groups
- Expertise in Microsoft Excel and Office
- Experience with Adobe Illustrator preferred
- Familiarity with RLM or WIP-tracking systems a plus
- Highly organized with excellent attention to detail
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
