We are seeking an experienced Technical Designer to support the development and execution of casual sleepwear across both knit and woven products. This is an individual contributor opportunity for a hands‑on technical designer who can independently own fittings, evaluate garment construction and fit, and communicate clear technical direction to cross‑functional partners and vendors.

The ideal candidate has spent the majority of their career in technical design, brings a strong pattern making and garment construction background, and is comfortable working in a fast‑paced product development environment. This person should be experienced enough to independently own a product category while remaining collaborative and receptive to direction from Technical Design leadership.

Key Responsibilities
  • Execute the technical design process from product development through final fit and approval.
  • Own the fit, comfort, construction, and technical execution of assigned products.
  • Conduct and independently lead garment fittings, including approximately 1–2 fitting sessions per week.
  • Analyze garments and identify necessary adjustments to achieve established fit, comfort, quality, and design standards.
  • Create detailed fit comments, pattern corrections, measurements, and technical specifications.
  • Apply strong pattern making knowledge to identify and resolve fit and construction issues.
  • Partner closely with Design to maintain design intent while ensuring products meet established fit and quality standards.
  • Communicate technical corrections and approvals clearly to vendors and manufacturing partners.
  • Review prototypes and samples and make appropriate adjustments throughout the development process.
  • Maintain accurate product information and technical documentation within PLM systems.
  • Participate in cross‑functional meetings and communicate relevant technical takeaways, action items, and follow‑ups.
  • Identify solutions to product development challenges while balancing design, fit, quality, manufacturing capabilities, and cost.
  • Manage multiple priorities and deadlines efficiently in a fast‑paced environment.
Required Qualifications
  • 5+ years of hands‑on Technical Design experience; approximately 5–10 years is preferred.
  • Career experience primarily focused on technical design and garment fit.
  • Strong pattern making and pattern correction knowledge.
  • Demonstrated experience independently conducting and/or owning garment fittings.
  • Ability to write detailed and actionable fit comments and pattern corrections.
  • Technical design experience with both knit and woven garments.
  • Experience with casual sleepwear, sleepwear, intimates, loungewear, or closely related apparel categories strongly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of garment construction, measurements, specifications, grading, fit, and quality.
  • Experience working within a PLM system;
Centric PLM experience is highly preferred.
  • Proficiency with tools such as Excel and Adobe Illustrator.
  • Ability to work quickly and efficiently while maintaining strong attention to detail.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Fashion, Technical Design, or a related discipline preferred; equivalent professional experience will also be considered.
Preferred Experience
  • Centric PLM experience or training.
  • Experience with additional PLM platforms such as FlexPLM.
  • Sleepwear or casual sleep product development experience.
  • Plus-size apparel and fit experience.

Experience working directly with overseas vendors, factories, or manufacturing partners.
  • Strong understanding of the relationship between patterns, garment construction, fit, comfort, and production feasibility.
Ideal Working Style

The successful candidate will be:

  • Flexible and agile in a changing environment.
  • A proactive and resourceful problem solver.
  • Collaborative and supportive of cross‑functional partners.
  • Approachable and empathetic.
  • Able to maintain composure under tight timelines or challenging circumstances.
  • Open to new processes and ways of working.
  • Comfortable receiving direction while independently owning their work.
  • Solution‑oriented and willing to go the extra mile when needed.
