Senior Project Captain – Healthcare Architecture

$90,000 - $130,000 + Discretionary Bonus

New York, NY or Melville, NY (Hybrid – 4 days in office, 1 day remote)

This is a chance to lead architectural production on healthcare projects from schematic design straight through construction administration, working inpatient and ambulatory care interiors for a firm with an international client base. You'll own the drawing set, coordinate directly with consultants, and carry projects through DOB and DOH code review, GC bidding, and construction meetings. You'll work close to Penn Station, cutting commute time in a hybrid schedule that gives you one remote day a week. The firm is award-winning and internationally active, with offices in New York City and Long Island, so the healthcare work you're doing connects to a broader, well-established practice. Compensation includes a discretionary bonus on top of base salary.

Your week moves between the drawing set and the field. You're producing and coordinating architectural documents, marking up drawings for accuracy, and interfacing directly with clients and consultants. During active bidding phases, you're responding to RFIs and keeping the process moving. Once construction starts, you're reviewing shop drawings and submittals, responding to RFIs from the field, and attending construction administration meetings, then writing the field reports that follow.

• 10+ years of continuous project documentation experience specifically in ambulatory care and inpatient healthcare projects
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and Bluebeam
• Strong working knowledge of NYC and NYS Building Codes, ADA compliance, NFPA 2012 for Healthcare, and FGI 2018 Guidelines
• Experience with filing strategies and base building infrastructure
• Bachelor's degree in Architecture
• Strong verbal, interpersonal, and communication skills for direct client and consultant interface
