An Intermediate Technical Designer is required for a full-time interior design and architectural project delivery role in New York. This position is suited to a technically strong designer with experience turning design intent into coordinated, code-compliant and buildable Construction Documents.
The Intermediate Technical Designer will support commercial interior projects across multiple phases, working closely with designers, consultants, product representatives, fabricators and contractors. The role offers involvement in documentation, detailing, Revit modeling, consultant coordination, permitting support and construction administration.
Intermediate Technical Designer Benefits:- $90,000 - $115,000 salary, based on relevant experience and qualifications

- Develop and coordinate Construction Documents for commercial interior and architectural projects.
- Translate design concepts into buildable technical solutions across plans, elevations, reflected ceiling plans, lighting plans, power and signal plans, detailing and related documentation.
- Coordinate technical systems including A/V, lighting, power, data, mechanical, electrical, plumbing and acoustics into project documentation.
- Support QA/QC reviews to maintain documentation quality, Revit modeling standards and cross-discipline coordination.
- Conduct field surveys, review existing conditions and support code-compliance assessments in low-, mid- and high-rise buildings.
- Assist with agency coordination, approvals and permitting processes.
- Participate in construction administration, including submittal reviews, RFIs, site visits and field observation reports.
- Support team coordination, mentor less experienced staff and contribute to small project scopes or work streams.
- 4-8 years of professional experience in interior design and/or architectural project delivery.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Interior Design, Architecture or a related field.
- Experience producing coordinated Construction Documents for commercial interiors.
- Strong Autodesk Revit and Enscape skills.
- Strong Adobe Creative Suite skills, including Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign.
- Working knowledge of state and local building and fire codes related to interior environments, including accessibility.
- Experience across project phases, including construction administration.
- Legal authorization to work in the U.S. without visa sponsorship.
- Workplace or commercial interior project experience.
- Working toward professional licensure or accreditation.
- WELL, LEED or other sustainability accreditation.
- Hands-on LEED and/or WELL project participation.
- Experience using Citrix and Mural.
- Hand sketching and conceptual drawing skills.
