Location: New York
Our client is seeking a commercially minded Senior Designer to support the growth of its women’s apparel business. This person will bring a strong understanding of contemporary fashion, product development, and market trends, with the ability to translate ideas into compelling, customer-focused product.
The Senior Designer will partner closely with Design, Product Development, Technical Design, Merchandising, Planning, and overseas teams to develop seasonal assortments across multiple categories and channels. This is a great opportunity for someone who is highly organized, trend-driven, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities- Lead trend, market, and competitive research to identify relevant product opportunities.
- Develop apparel concepts across categories including dresses, tops, bottoms, sweaters, and outerwear.
- Create CADs, technical flats, colorways, tech packs, and presentations to support product development from concept through production.
- Partner with cross-functional and overseas teams to communicate design intent, fit, construction, and development details.
- Review samples, fit feedback, measurements, and factory comments, and help drive revisions throughout the development process.
- Support multi-channel and B2B product initiatives, special projects, collaborations, and seasonal line reviews.
- Manage multiple calendars, deadlines, and style counts while maintaining strong attention to detail.
- Use new tools and technologies, including AI-powered platforms, to support trend analysis, concept development, product visualization, and workflow efficiency.
- 4–7+ years of apparel design experience, preferably within women’s contemporary, lifestyle, resort, swim, or fast-fashion categories.
- Strong Adobe Illustrator skills are required;
Photoshop and InDesign experience is preferred. - Experience with CADs, technical flats, tech packs, garment construction, fit, fabrication, and overseas product development.
- Strong communication, organization, presentation, trend forecasting, and product evaluation skills.
- Experience supporting wholesale, B2B, marketplace, or multi-channel businesses is a plus.
- Interest in emerging design technology and AI tools is preferred.
