We are seeking a full-time Project Architect with at least 10 years of professional experience to join a talented architecture team. The successful candidate will be an effective and confident communicator, a hard-worker who is willing to roll up their sleeves and get the job done. The ideal candidate must be a competent multi-tasker and problem-solver with strong analytical skills to work in a friendly yet fast-paced office.
This candidate should have an in-depth knowledge of all steps related to architectural design, construction documents and construction administration. Ability to diligently communicate with necessary people to ensure timely execution.
This candidate should also be able to conduct quality assurance checks on a frequent basis in order to ensure company standards are met.
Qualifications And Experience- Bachelor's degree in Architecture.
- NYS licensure preferred.
- Minimum 10 years of professional experience required.
- Permitting through New York State Education Department (NYSED) experience is preferred.
- Ability to work on projects from start to finish, from schematic design through construction.
- Proficiency in Revit with extensive experience working on construction documents, drawings and specifications.
- Knowledge of building materials and construction methods, NYS codes and regulations.
- Ability to research materials and work with product vendors and permitting agencies.
- Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines.
- Strong attention to detail while maintaining consistent workflow.
- Interpersonal skills to work collaboratively with design teams, clients, consultants, vendors, and contractors.
- Team player mentality who works well with others and is willing to learn.
- Ability and willingness to work with junior architects during various phases of design and construction, including review of work by others.
- Production of projects from concept to completion, including producing construction documents, reviewing submittals/shop drawings, and correspondence with contractors and clients.
- Work with project teams to develop designs collaboratively and produce permit and construction sets of drawings and specifications.
- Building permitting through various agencies.
- Track project progress by visiting job sites during construction, conducting meetings and inspections.
- Review and red-line construction documents produced by the production team.
This position includes a combination of office-based work and periodic visits to active project sites. Site visits may involve exposure to outdoor conditions, construction activity, and elevated noise levels, as well as navigating ladders or scaffolding. Occasional lifting or carrying of materials (up to 40 lbs.) may be required, and appropriate safety equipment must be worn when on-site.
Reliable transportation is required, as travel to project sites is an essential part of the role. A background check is required.
Compensation & BenefitsSalary: $90,000 - $120,000 per year
