We are seeking an Intermediate Designer to join our Residential team: someone seasoned, self-directed, and capable of carrying meaningful responsibility across the full lifecycle of residential projects. It is best suited for a designer who is driven, self motivated, exceptionally detail oriented and ready to operate with accountability, autonomy, and discipline.
The Intermediate Designer will work closely with the Principal and design team to lead projects from early concept through execution. This includes creative development, documentation, FF&E, coordination, and client communication. The position requires comfort moving fluidly between big-picture design thinking and exacting logistical execution. There are real production responsibilities, and success depends on strong self-management, organizational discipline, and the ability to multitask while staying focused and sharp in a fast paced, rigorous environment.
ResponsibilitiesDesign Execution & Vision Implementation
Coordinating tasks and deliverables to maintain momentum and meet milestones.
Proactively flagging issues, gaps, or risks related to scope, schedule, or execution to provide attentive and meaningful support.
Operating as a reliable second brain on projects - prepared, agile, meticulous and extremely organized.
Produce detailed and accurate furniture plan, interior elevations, custom millwork and furniture drawings, and design documentation that meet a high professional and aesthetic standard.
Review fabrication shop drawings, and construction submittals to ensure fidelity to design intent.
Create, maintain and update 3D models for interior projects, including finishes, custom millwork, and furniture designs, as required.
Coordinate with architects, fabricators, and contractors to resolve technical and constructability issues efficiently and thoughtfully.
Maintain accuracy and consistency across all design documentation throughout the life of a project.
Coordinate the selection, documentation, and execution of finishes and furnishings across projects, working closely with the team to ensure timely delivery and installation.
Prepare and maintain project boards, schemes, and sample sets with accurate specifications, pricing, and availability throughout the project timeline.
Track and organize materials, samples, and approvals to support smooth procurement and execution.
Maintain rigorously organized project folders and documentation on the internal server, including drawings, correspondence, approvals, and reference materials.
Organize and create clear, well-structured presentations, schedules, tear sheets, and internal documents that reflect Bespoke Only’s brand and standards with consistency and accuracy.
Contribute to internal design reviews with strong preparation, time management, and follow-through.
Prepare meeting agendas, presentation materials, and documentation in advance of reviews with the Principal and/or clients.
Document key decisions, next steps, and action items to ensure clarity and accountability following meetings.
Communicate updates and progress clearly to support alignment across the team.
- 4+ years of full-time interior design experience
- Demonstrated experience working on high-end private residential projects, in a lead role.
- Advanced proficiency in 2D drafting and documentation and 3D modeling for interior projects (survey, plans, sections, elevations, custom millwork/furniture, construction sets)
- Exceptional organizational skills and comfort managing multiple work streams simultaneously
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to articulate ideas clearly and precisely
