Location: New York
Our Client, A contemporary Brand in NYC is looking for an Associate Technical Sweater Designer to join their team!
Responsibilities:- Assist in setting up initial development specs for new styles and publishing tech packs for proto requests.
- Maintain all tech pack updates and fit comments for proto stage through bulk production.
- Review proto and production samples, design and fit intent and suggest adjustments as necessary.
- Help to prepare for fit sessions by checking in samples, accurately measuring garments, and taking notes in fittings.
- Support Sweater Technical Designer by helping support technical comment workload in order to maintain deadlines. Must be able to work independently.
- Communicate with suppliers on all technical issues, providing technical expertise on how to correct or achieve a desired look and giving detailed feedback on samples.
- 3-5 years experience in Technical Design, pattern making, garment construction and fitting experience. Background in sweaters / knitwear required.
- Experience with knit, yarn, gauge, knitting construction, and wash
- Possess good computer skills, Illustrator proficiency required, PLM / PDM experience preferred.
- Ability to communicate technical information in a clear and concise manner – strong written and verbal communication skills
- Attention to detail, accuracy, with strong organizational skills
- Must be English-proficient in order to communicate effectively with internal and external partners.
