Our client is seeking a seasoned Design Manager / Senior Architect to oversee the design lifecycle of a growing pipeline of ground-up high-rise residential developments. This position will serve as a key liaison between ownership, internal project teams, and external architects, engineers, and design consultants, ensuring projects remain aligned with design objectives, budgets, schedules, and quality standards.
The Design Manager / Senior Architect will oversee projects from Schematic Design through Construction Documents and Construction Administration
, providing architectural leadership while also taking an active role in the design of common areas, amenity spaces, and lobbies. The position will represent ownership throughout the design and construction process, including project meetings and regular site visits.
- Significant architectural experience with ground-up residential development, preferably high-rise
- Experience managing external architects, engineers, and design consultants
- Strong understanding of projects from SD through CD and CA
- Ability to oversee drawing sets for quality, budget, schedule, and code compliance
- Strong knowledge of architectural design and construction
- Experience with interior design and material selection for common areas and amenity spaces
- Experience with construction administration, including RFIs and submittals
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit
- Comfortable attending OAC meetings and conducting regular construction site visits
- Strong communication, leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to effectively represent ownership and coordinate multiple project stakeholders
Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Architecture preferred. Architectural registration/licensure strongly preferred.
