We are seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented, and design-minded Design Coordinator to support the planning, design, production, installation, and execution of Charter projects, Special Projects, and other design initiatives across Effy’s cruise retail portfolio. This role will work closely with the Store Design, Retail Experiences, Visual Merchandising, Creative, and Charter teams, as well as cruise line partners, vendors, fabricators, and other stakeholders, to help bring projects from concept through execution.
The ideal candidate has a background or education in Interior Design or Design Management with the ability to understand space planning and design intent while also managing the detailed coordination required to keep complex projects moving forward.
Projects may include Charters, special retail activations, temporary installations, new retail concepts, branded environments, events, and other strategic initiatives requiring design and project coordination support.
This role is based at our New York City headquarters and requires being onsite five days a week.
Key Responsibilities Project Coordination & Support- Provide day-to-day design and project coordination support to Project Managers and Design leadership across Charters, Special Projects, and other business initiatives.
- Proactively track project schedules, action items, approvals, deliverables, and outstanding decisions to ensure projects remain on schedule.
- Assist with project documentation, presentations, specifications, budgets, procurement tracking, and installation planning.
- Identify potential design, production, or logistical issues and work with the appropriate teams to develop solutions.
- Support multiple projects simultaneously, adapting priorities based on evolving business needs and project timelines.
- Support the development of retail environments, activations, fixtures, displays, branded elements, and temporary installations from initial concept through final execution.
- Assist with space planning and communicating comments & feedback to designers or vendors for updated design packages
- Utilize Sketch Up and other design software to develop and modify layouts, and design concepts during planning, production, and onsite execution.
- Assist with sourcing materials, finishes, furniture, fixtures, decorative elements, and other design components as required.
- Maintain organized project design documentation, including drawings, specifications, finish selections, vendor information, and approvals.
- Act as a liaison between internal teams, cruise line partners, designers, vendors, fabricators, and other stakeholders to maintain clear and timely communication throughout the project lifecycle.
