About the RoleAutumn Cashmere is seeking a Fall Design Intern to support our knitwear design team in our New York City office. This is a paid, on‑site internship at $20/hour and is eligible for school credit
, subject to the requirements of the intern’s educational institution.
The intern will gain practical experience across the design process, from seasonal research and concept development through sample review and collection preparation.
Responsibilities- Assist with seasonal trend, color, and market research
- Support concept development and mood board creation
- Assist with sketches, color stories, and design presentations
- Research and organize yarns, fabrics, trims, and other materials
- Assist with technical packages and design documentation
- Organize samples and maintain design archives
- Support fittings and document design feedback
- Update design notes and assist with sample revisions
- Collaborate with design, production, and merchandising teams
- Assist with materials and presentations for internal reviews and buyer meetings
- Provide general support to the design team as needed
- Strong interest in fashion and luxury knitwear design
- Foundational skills in fashion sketching and garment construction
- Familiarity with knitwear techniques and construction
- Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, or comparable design software
- Strong research, organization, and time‑management skills
- Good understanding of color, texture, proportion, and fashion trends
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast‑paced studio environment
- A portfolio demonstrating relevant fashion, textile, or design work
- Currently pursuing or recently completed coursework in Fashion Design, Textile Design, or a related field
- Available to work on‑site in New York City throughout the fall internship period
Compensation: $20/hour
Academic Credit: This internship is eligible for school credit, subject to the requirements and approval of the intern’s educational institution.
