The Opportunity
BIMstream is expanding rapidly in New York City, and we are looking for a Junior Project Manager & Scan Technician to grow with us. Based in our Midtown office at 560 Lexington Avenue, this is a hybrid role that spans project management, technical QA/QC, client coordination, and hands‑on reality capture in the field.
This position sits on a defined Project Manager track. You will receive direct mentorship from senior leadership, take on increasing project ownership from day one, and be positioned to advance quickly as the office and company scale. If you have an architecture or engineering background, strong Autodesk skills, and want exposure to every stage of scan‑to‑BIM - from laser scanning a site to delivering a finished model - this role is for you.
Whatyou'll Do
Project Management — Manage projects across BIMstream’s full range of service offerings, tracking scope, schedule, and deliverables from kickoff to handoff
Quality Control — Perform QA/QC review of architectural and MEP drawings, Revit models, and AutoCAD files against BIMstream’s Existing Model Detail (EMD) standards
Studio Coordination — Interface with our Studio teams to give feedback on active projects and coordinate responses to client queries and RFIs
Client Communication and Coordination — Communicate directly with clients to intake requests, coordinate scan logistics and site access, and drive timely responses. Schedule meetings, send follow‑ups, and keep stakeholders aligned to support model development
Reality Capture — Scan sites locally and nationally using advanced sensors (Nav Vis VLX, Leica RTC
360, GeoSLAM) to document existing conditions of buildings, facades, and sites
A degree in Architecture, Engineering, or a closely related field
Roughly 1–3 years of relevant experience (internships and academic project work count — we are flexible for the right candidate)
Ability to read architecture and construction documentation sets
Proficiency in understanding Autodesk Revit (including exports and integrations) and Autodesk AutoCAD, Rhino 3D a plus
Strong communication skills, organization, time management, and exceptional attention to detail
Comfort working on active job sites and handling scanning equipment; willingness to travel for site scans as project needs require
Location in or near New York City with the ability to commute to Midtown Manhattan; we work in‑office roughly 3 days per week (may increase with site activity and workload)
Experience with Navisworks Manage, ArcGIS or other GIS platforms
Hands‑on experience with Nav Vis, Leica, or other laser scanning / survey equipment and point cloud workflows
Familiarity with scan‑to‑BIM processes, existing conditions documentation, or 2D documentation sets (floor plans, RCPs, sections, elevations)
A self‑starter mindset: curious, adaptable, and eager to take ownership in a fast‑growing company where your work is visible and your growth is prioritized
BIMstream builds, models, and delivers precise existing conditions documentation for the world’s most complex buildings and portfolios. As one of the industry’s only fully integrated providers, we perform every step ourselves — from reality capture to modeling to hosting platform. Nothing is outsourced.
Our Field Engineering teams specialize in complex, demanding environments — laboratories, hospitals, airports, stadiums, industrial facilities, and above‑ceiling MEP systems — capturing buildings with measurable precision using advanced sensors including Nav Vis VLX, Leica RTC
360, and GeoSLAM. The BIMstream Studio, staffed exclusively by architects and engineers, transforms this data into dimensionally accurate digital twins, Revit models, AutoCAD files,…
