The Designer for Purple Label Shirts is responsible for all facets of the design process to include focus on development and execution in line with brand vision and line plans.

  • Conduct ongoing market research, including competitive shopping, trend analysis, and digital landscape insights to inform design direction.
  • Demonstrate a deep understanding of the Purple Label customer and the Ralph Lauren styling and sensibility.
  • Create and maintain all design-related materials, including CADs, line sheets, flat sketches, artwork layouts, trims, and technical specifications.
  • Partner closely with Graphic and Print teams to develop and realize seasonal print concepts aligned with the broader collection vision.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Merchandising, Product Development, and global partners to align on design, color, cost, and market relevance.
  • Present seasonal assortment work aligned with sku plan needs
  • Maintain daily communication with overseas development teams and vendors to ensure timely execution and alignment.
  • Work closely with PMT and Sourcing Team to ensure all tech packs are accurate and design intent is clearly communicated.
  • Participate in fittings to uphold design integrity, ensuring aesthetic, proportion, and fit are consistent with brand standards.
  • Partner with the Purple Label Fabric Team on design development and fabric innovation to ensure cohesion across categories.
  • Identify opportunities to improve design development processes, including tech pack accuracy, sample review, handoff materials, and cross-functional communication.
  • Serve as a resource to associate or assistant designers by providing informal guidance on design tools, development process, brand standards, and executional details.
  • Work independently on assigned categories or projects, escalating complex design, development, or timeline issues as needed

Salary range: $65,000 - $129,225 annually,

  • Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design or a related field preferred.
  • Relevant industry experience required;
    Men’s shirting experience is a plus.
  • Strong proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, including Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign; working knowledge of PowerPoint.
  • Familiarity with AI-supported design tools and openness to integrating emerging technologies into the creative process.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Outlook, and Word.
  • Experience working within PLM systems to manage design and development workflows.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and timelines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Clear and effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Self-motivated with a proactive approach and strong sense of ownership.
  • Experience with or exposure to 3D design platforms (e.g., Browzwear) is a plus
