Sweater Designer - Juniors

Our client, an apparel company, is looking for a Sweater Designer to join their junior women's team in NYC!

• Lead the end-to-end design process for junior women’s sweaters, including concept development, seasonal line planning, and final approvals.
• Research trends, yarns, stitches, and competitive market insights to create commercially driven assortments tailored to off-price retailers.
• Oversee technical packages, stitch development, color direction, and fit consistency across all sweater categories.
• Partner closely with merchandising, production, and overseas factories to ensure margin alignment, cost-effective construction, and on-time development.
• Present seasonal concepts and assortments to sales teams and key retail partners, adjusting designs based on buyer feedback and sell-through performance.

• 5–10+ years of sweater design experience within junior women’s apparel, with strong understanding of off-price retail dynamics.
• Expertise in yarns, sweater construction, stitch development, and technical design fundamentals.
• Proven ability to balance creativity with commercial viability, designing into sharp price points and retailer-specific needs.
• Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills, including experience partnering with overseas factories and production teams.
• Proficiency in design software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite) and ability to present clear, accurate CADs, tech packs, and design boards.
