Location: New York
Our client, a leading home textiles company, is seeking a Junior Designer to join their team in NYC!
Responsibilities:- Designing bedding or bath products as assigned
- Create presentations for internal and external meetings by working closely with the sales and buying teams
- Work with Bedding or Bath Designer to develop all artwork needs (concepts, layouts, repeats, colorings, coordinates, etc.)
- Communicate with vendors to accomplish product designs
- Create design specs and standards for production
- Maintain an accurate design file system of ongoing projects
- Update the Product Manager with current status of design projects
- Reviewing and approving samples to make shipping deadlines
- Stay up to date on current design trends
- Bachelor’s degree in Design/Textile Design or relevant field of study
- 1-3+ years of home design experience
- Experience with weaving, general knowledge of how fabrics and materials are woven and dyed
- Strong computer skills (proficiency in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and Microsoft Office programs to include Excel)
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
- Strong organizational and analytical skills
