Position SummaryWe are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Designer to join our DKNY Swim design team. This role plays a critical part in supporting the creation and development of a competitive apparel product line that balances relevant commercial appeal with brand-right emotional fashion. The ideal candidate is a proactive team player with strong technical skills, organizational ability, and a passion for the apparel industry.
Responsibilities- Reporting into and supporting Senior Designer
- Researching design concepts and building out trend analysis for concepts related to seasonal collections
- Developing new ideas for silhouette, color, concept boards, and trims
- Source fabric for each season based on market trends by working with Fabric Team
- Communicate with all cross functional teams (Sales, Production, Fabric, Tech)
- Approving/commenting on color lab dips/ strike offs, for sample yardage and bulk
- Creating presentation boards line boards for line meetings
- Generate tech-packs with clear silhouette, garment construction, and trim information to overseas factories
- Designing and selecting prints for each season
- Work closely with Sales team to update line sheets and special request garments
- Manage and maintain all Tracking charts
- Keeping all charts/ binders organized by season
- 5+ years of design experience in Women's Swimwear/Lingerie
- Must be able to handle multiple projects and deadlines
- Must have PLM experience and knowledge of system troubleshooting
- Must be proficient on Illustrator, Photoshop, Excel
- Must have excellent technical skills
- Must be well versed at CAD Development
- Must be able to create line sheets and lead conversations related to discrepancies or modifications to style, number and descriptions
- Must be comfortable with communication with overseas factories.
- Must be able to create tech packs from beginning to end
- Knowledge of the industry is needed
- Must be action oriented and able to make decisions, positive "CAN DO" attitude is key
The pay range for this position is: $75,000 - $90,000
