We are a growing apparel company specializing in men’s and women’s apparel, including active wear, sleepwear, and sportswear. We work with major retailers and focus on trend-driven, high-volume production. Our team is fast-paced, creative, and hands‑on, with a strong presence in the wholesale and showroom space.
Position OverviewWe are seeking an experienced Men’s Sportswear / Activewear Designer to join our team. The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of the men’s market and experience designing trend‑right, commercially viable apparel for major retailers. This role requires a hands‑on designer who can take product from initial concept through development, balancing creativity, functionality, fit, and customer needs.
Responsibilities- Design and develop seasonal men’s sportswear and active wear collections
- Create original concepts, CADs, colorways, graphics, and garment details
- Research seasonal trends, colors, fabrics, silhouettes, and competitive products
- Develop trend boards, color stories, and seasonal concept presentations
- Select and develop fabrics, trims, finishes, and garment details appropriate for sportswear and active wear
- Create detailed design specifications and prepare artwork/CADs for development and production
- Work closely with merchandising, production, and technical design teams from concept through final product
- Review samples and provide clear comments and revisions to ensure design intent, fit, quality, and functionality
- Adapt designs based on buyer feedback, retailer needs, costing, and production requirements
- Maintain organized seasonal design files, artwork, CADs, and development materials
- Manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast‑paced environment
- 3+ years of experience designing men’s sportswear and/or active wear
- Strong knowledge of the men’s apparel market, trends, fabrics, and construction
- Strong proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop
- Experience creating garment CADs, colorways, graphics, and technical design details
- Understanding of performance and active wear fabrics, trims, and garment construction
- Experience working with overseas factories and production teams
- Strong sense of color, proportion, fit, and commercial product
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environment
- Excellent attention to detail, organization, and communication skills
- Experience designing for major retailers and/or off‑price retailers such as Burlington, Ross, and TJ Maxx
- Experience with high‑volume wholesale apparel
- Knowledge of garment production and factory communication
- Ability to create trend boards and compelling concept presentations
Salary: $80,000–$120,000, commensurate with experience
