Senior Jewelry Designer

SAME is seeking a talented and highly detail-oriented Senior Jewelry Designer to join our growing New York City team and lead the design and development of our fashion jewelry collections from initial concept through final production.

This role is ideal for a designer who brings together a strong creative point of view with exceptional technical and product development skills. The Senior Jewelry Designer will be responsible for translating concepts into beautifully resolved, commercially viable pieces while ensuring that design intent is carried through every stage of development and production.

The ideal candidate is equally comfortable developing concepts, creating CADs and technical drawings, building detailed tech packs, reviewing samples, and communicating directly with jewelry factories and vendors.

• Own the jewelry design process from initial concept through production.
• Research and interpret seasonal inspiration, jewelry trends, materials, finishes, silhouettes, and competitive market direction.
• Develop original concepts that align with the SAME brand aesthetic and overall collection vision.
• Create sketches, CADs, renderings, technical flats, and other visual materials needed to clearly communicate design intent.
• Develop cohesive jewelry collections across relevant categories and product types.
• Balance creativity, wearability, commerciality, cost, and production feasibility throughout the design process.

• Translate creative concepts into production-ready technical designs.
• Create accurate CADs and detailed technical flats with appropriate dimensions, construction details, components, materials, finishes, and color specifications.
• Build and maintain comprehensive tech packs for each style, including all specifications necessary for factory development and production.
• Clearly communicate measurements, scale, stone placement, hardware, closures, plating, finishes, materials, and construction details.
• Maintain the accuracy and consistency of specifications as styles evolve throughout development.

• Manage styles through the full development lifecycle, from initial design handoff through prototyping, sampling, revisions, approvals, and production.
• Review prototypes and samples for design accuracy, proportion, construction, quality, color, finish, and overall execution.
• Provide factories with clear and actionable sample comments and revisions.
• Troubleshoot technical and production challenges while maintaining the integrity of the original design.
• Track multiple styles simultaneously and ensure development remains on schedule.
• Maintain organized records of samples, revisions, approvals, specifications, and production status.
• Communicate directly with jewelry factories and vendors throughout development and production.
• Conduct clear design handoffs, ensuring factories have complete and accurate information before development begins.
• Respond to factory questions regarding construction, specifications, materials, finishes, and design intent.
• Follow up proactively on development status, samples, revisions, approvals, and production milestones.
• Partner with factories to identify solutions related to construction, quality, cost, and production feasibility.
• Build strong working relationships with external manufacturing partners and maintain clear, consistent communication across projects.

• Collaborate closely with the creative, merchandising, production, and leadership teams to ensure each product aligns with the broader SAME Los Angeles vision.
