About the Role

We are looking for a Design Director to lead our Decorative Pillows category, overseeing creative direction, seasonal concept development, line building, and the design team.

This is a hands-on creative leadership role for someone with a strong eye for trend, color, pattern, texture, and product. The ideal candidate understands both the creative and commercial sides of home textiles and knows how to translate emerging trends into compelling pillow collections for major retailers.

What You'll Do

• Lead the creative direction and seasonal vision for decorative pillow collections.
• Research and translate trends across color, print, pattern, texture, materials, and home décor into commercially relevant product.
• Direct the development of prints, embroideries, appliqués, textures, fabrications, and other decorative techniques.
• Lead merchandising and line building, balancing color, fabrication, price point, product mix, and retailer needs.
• Identify assortment opportunities and develop new product concepts to drive category growth.
• Remain hands-on throughout the design process, from initial concept and artwork through sampling and final product.
• Lead and mentor the decorative pillow design team, overseeing creative execution, priorities, and timelines.
• Review artwork, CADs, samples, tech packs, and product details to maintain design intent and quality.
• Partner with Sales, PD, and Production on buyer presentations, customer needs, new opportunities, target costs, and bringing product to market.

What We're Looking For

• 8+ years of experience in decorative pillows, home textiles (bedding, rugs, kitchen), or soft accessories.
• Proven experience leading and mentoring a design team.
• Excellent eye for color, print, pattern, textiles, texture, and fabrication.
• Strong experience with trend forecasting, line building, and merchandising.
• Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator.
• Experience designing product for major retailers and working with overseas manufacturing partners.
• Bachelor's degree in Textile Design, Surface Design, Fashion Design, Fine Arts, or a related field preferred.
•
