The Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology at Columbia University Irving Medical Center has long been a national leader in advancing women's reproductive health. We are the birthplace of the Apgar score, the first institution in the country to perform amniocentesis, and the center that developed RhoGAM—an innovation that has virtually eliminated Rh incompatibility reactions, which once caused hundreds of fetal and neonatal deaths and illnesses each year.

Located within the heart of CUIMC's vibrant medical community, the department brings together more than 100 physicians and over 40 post-graduate residents and fellows who collaborate closely with researchers and clinicians across the medical center to meet the full spectrum of women's health needs. Columbia University Irving Medical Center is seeking a dynamic, highly skilled Medical Director of Labor and Delivery for its Allen Hospital Division. This full-time position is ideal for a board-certified obstetrician-gynecologist with a strong commitment to clinical excellence, leadership, and interdisciplinary collaboration. The Medical Director will provide clinical oversight and operational leadership for the Labor and Delivery Unit, advancing initiatives that promote patient safety, quality improvement, and team-based care.

This role is dedicated to inpatient care, encompassing the management of obstetrical and gynecologic patients admitted to the hospital. The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to exemplary clinical care, research, and the education of residents and medical students. Based within New York-Presbyterian Hospital and its affiliated inpatient units, the position provides comprehensive care to a diverse patient population.

• Medical Degree from an Accredited University
• New York Medical License
• Board Eligible or Board Certified
