Overview
The Division of Infectious Diseases, Department of Medicine, at the Columbia University Irving Medical Center (CUIMC) invites applications for a clinical faculty position with expertise and interest in medical education, general infectious diseases, HIV, and inpatient as well as outpatient clinical care. Candidates should have strong clinical and teaching qualifications. The attending will have opportunities to work with house staff and medical students on the inpatient medicine service focused on care for individuals living with HIV who experience barriers to care, patients with infectious complications of substance use, general medicine patients, and patients with complex multidrug resistant bacterial infections and tuberculosis.
The faculty member will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of care coordinators to participate in quality initiatives, identify and address barriers to care, and facilitate linkage to outpatient services. Faculty will also work as a member of a vibrant multidisciplinary team providing integrated HIV, status-neutral and primary care, as well as HCV care in the outpatient comprehensive health program.
This position offers substantial opportunities for growth, leadership and academic advancement as a clinician-educator within Infectious Diseases and the Department of Medicine at our institution. ApplicationQualificationsMinimum Qualifications: M.D. or equivalent medical professional degree. Candidate must be board certified or board eligible in internal medicine and infectious diseases and must be eligible to practice in the State of New York.
Preferred Qualifications: Training and/or experience in one of the areas of focus, including HIV treatment and preventive care, transplant infectious diseases, prevention of healthcare-associated infections and antimicrobial stewardship.
