Position Overview:
The Monroe County Department of Public Health seeks a board-certified Pulmonologist with TB subspecialty expertise to provide medical leadership for their TB Prevention & Control Program. This role involves diagnosing, treating, and managing TB cases while supporting public health initiatives.

Qualifications:
- Education: MD or DO degree.
- Licensure: Active New York medical license; board certification in Pulmonary Medicine; subspecialty TB.
- Experience: TB diagnosis/treatment; public health or infectious disease background preferred.
- Technical Skills: Chest imaging interpretation, TB procedures (e.g., thoracentesis), and QA program oversight.
- Soft Skills: Strong communication, teaching ability, and collaborative problem-solving.
Key Responsibilities:
- Diagnose and manage active/latent TB cases (pulmonary/extrapulmonary).
- Interpret radiographic images and perform specialized procedures (e.g., pleural fluid sampling).
- Supervise TB treatment plans and contact investigations.
- Provide on-call consultation to TB Program staff.
- Lead bi-weekly TB teaching conferences (36 hours/year).
- Participate in monthly treatment plan conferences and annual radiation safety meetings.
- Collaborate on policy development, QA activities (32 hours/year), and staff education.
