The Psychiatry Resident PGY 3 will engage in advanced clinical training under the supervision of experienced faculty in a dynamic and diverse psychiatric setting. The resident will build upon foundational knowledge and skills acquired in the first two years, with a focus on enhancing diagnostic and therapeutic strategies across various psychiatric disorders.
Key Responsibilities- Clinical Duties:
Conduct assessments and develop treatment plans for patients in inpatient, outpatient, and consultation-liaison settings. Provide psychotherapy and pharmacotherapy to patients with a variety of psychiatric conditions. Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss patient care and treatment strategies. - Education and Training:
Attend didactic sessions, seminars, and workshops designed to enhance knowledge and clinical skills related to psychiatry. Supervise and mentor junior residents and medical students, fostering a collaborative learning environment. - Research and Quality Improvement:
Participate in ongoing research projects and quality improvement initiatives within the department. Collect and analyze data, and contribute to presentations and publications as appropriate. - Professional Development:
Attend professional conferences and workshops to stay updated on the latest advancements in psychiatry. Engage in self-directed learning to continuously enhance clinical skills and knowledge.
- Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution.
- Completion of PGY 2 in Psychiatry residency.
- State medical license (or eligible for licensure).
- Strong clinical skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
