Columbia University Irving Medical Center, Department of Medicine - Divisions of Preventive Medicine & Nutrition and Cardiology - seek an outstanding scientist (MD, MD/PhD, PhD) to conduct basic research in cardiometabolic function and health, and to participate in teaching in the Department’s training programs. Candidates must have an exceptional record of basic research in cardiometabolism, and a plan to establish an independent, extramurally funding research program that studies cardiometabolism.
The ideal research program will be interdisciplinary, building collaborations with investigators in established research centers at Columbia in neuroscience, immunology, diabetes or computational biology. Candidates are expected to have superior teaching, interpersonal, and if relevant, clinical skills.

QualificationsMinimum Qualifications: MD, MD/PhD or PhD.
Preferred Qualifications: The ideal candidate is expected to have a successful record of extramurally funded research, or to demonstrate potential to obtain extramural research funding. The ability to participate in the clinical activities of the Department is preferable but not required.

Salary Range: $200,000 - $200,000 Annual
