Medical Director, Newborn Nursery — New York-Presbyterian/Queens.
The Department of Pediatrics at New York-Presbyterian/Queens is looking for a Board-Certified Pediatrician with leadership experience to serve as the Medical Director of the Newborn Nursery in Flushing, Queens. This is an outstanding opportunity for a pediatric leader with an interest in joining a growing and well-developed pediatric hospital medicine program to oversee clinical services to newborns.
Responsibilities- Provide clinical and administrative leadership for the Newborn Nursery
- Assume a leadership role as a pediatric attending in the newborn nursery
- Lead quality and patient safety initiatives
- Collaborate with OB/GYN, nursing, neonatology and general pediatrics to ensure seamless and patient-centered care in the newborn period
- Support and grow initiatives involving family education, lactation, and patient experience
New York-Presbyterian/Queens delivers approximately 2500 newborns annually. The newborn nursery is supported by neonatal Physician Assistants, lactation specialists and a Level 3 NICU with 24/7 neonatology coverage. New York-Presbyterian/Queens serves patients throughout the borough and beyond and is situated in a culturally and ethnically diverse area. This 535-bed (65 assigned to Pediatrics) tertiary facility is an academic affiliate of Weill Cornell Medical College and has been an integral part of the community since 1957 with active services in all medical and surgical disciplines.
NYP/Queens is the major teaching site for Pediatric and OB/GYN residents of New York-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center. In addition, NYP/Queens faculty participate in the education and training of Weill Cornell Medical College students.
The salary range for this position is $250k-$300k. This compensation range does not include our amazing benefits and any incentive payments, based on quality measures and productivity, that may be applicable to this role. Fluency with additional languages other than English is a plus.

- Academic appointment at Weill Cornell Medical College; rank commensurate with experience and credentials
