Wyckoff Heights Medical Center seeks a dedicated and experienced Otolaryngology (ENT) Physician to diagnose and treat disorders related to the ear, nose, and throat. We have a high-volume practice that offers a chance to practice full-spectrum Otolaryngology services to a diverse population. Our ideal candidate is well-versed in the medical and surgical aspects of otolaryngology, has excellent patient service skills, and is committed to the highest standards of patient care.

This position is for a full-time board-eligible/board-certified Otolaryngology physician whose role includes clinic visits, procedures, and surgical cases.

Wyckoff Heights Medical Center is a 220-bed teaching hospital located in a residential neighborhood directly on the border of northern Brooklyn and Western Queens. We serve a variety of cultural and ethnic communities. We are committed to quality and compassion in addressing the healthcare needs of urban neighborhoods.

The otolaryngologist, or ENT physician, 's responsibilities include consulting with patients, performing diagnostic tests, performing surgeries, and providing treatment for many conditions. The generalist ENT physician's role includes a mix of inpatient and outpatient care, with roughly three days per week dedicated to the clinic and one to 1.5 days in the OR.

Responsibilities
  • Practice all aspects of otolaryngology/head and neck surgery
  • Diagnose and treat infections and diseases of your ears, nose and throat.
  • Evaluate patients who may need surgical or non-surgical treatment for conditions related to the ear, nose, throat, and related structures
  • Perform comprehensive examinations of the ear, nose, and throat, and other head and neck structures to diagnose illnesses, injuries, or disorders
  • Interpret results from diagnostic tests, such as audiograms (hearing tests), and imaging studies
  • Prescribe medication to treat various conditions
  • Provide post-operative care and follow-up
  • Advise patients on their condition, possible treatment options, and preventative measures
  • Plan and carry out medical and surgical treatments, including but not limited to tonsillectomies, adenoidectomies, myringotomies, and sinus surgeries
  • Coordinate with other healthcare professionals for the management of patient's health problems
  • Document patient care by maintaining detailed notes of appointments and treatment plans
  • Staying informed about the latest developments in otolaryngology and participating in continuing education activities
  • Practicing health and safety standards to ensure a sanitary and safe environment for patients
  • Collect and record patient information, such as medical histories, reports, and examination results. Maintain complete and accurate medical records.
  • Communicate effectively with the clinical team to ensure total delivery of quality care.
  • Participate in medical staff educational programs and meetings.
Qualifications
  • Doctor of Medicine (MD), Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) or foreign equivalent
  • Completion of a U.S.

    -accredited residency program in otolaryngology
  • Fellowship training in Gastroenterology from an accredited institution
  • Board Eligible/Board Certified in Otolaryngology
  • Must meet the hospital’s medical staff credentialing standards
  • Must possess a current, unrestricted New York State license
  • Must possess active Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) registration or be eligible for registration.
  • Must possess active Medicare/Medicaid Enrollment or be eligible to enroll.
  • Excellent knowledge of surgical procedures and emergency care
  • Experience preferred; new graduates are welcome to apply
  • BLS or ACLS required.
  • Must possess strong communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Comfortable with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system and Microsoft Office
  • Clinical proficiency in evidence-based medicine
Preferred Qualifications
  • Three (3) years of experience working with a community clinic is highly desirable.
  • Established leadership skills.
