Psychiatrist, Consult & Liaison, Part Time, Brooklyn

Overview

New York-Presbyterian/Brooklyn Methodist Hospital is looking for a part-time Board Eligible/Board Certified Consultation-Liaison Psychiatrist. The part-time schedule will consist of two weekend shifts, with one shift specifically requiring coverage on Sunday nights.

The Consultation-Liaison Psychiatrist will be a key part of a multidisciplinary clinical team to provide high-quality, evidence-based mental health treatments to patients. The service provides psychiatric consultation to the NYP-BMH emergency room and non-psychiatric inpatient units. Under the supervision of the Service Chief for Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry, the psychiatrist will primarily be responsible for evaluating patients, assisting primary teams in the development of treatment plans, and providing ongoing care as indicated.

The psychiatrist will communicate and collaborate with emergency department, medicine, and surgical colleagues to optimize patient care, and will provide clinical leadership and close collaboration with other roles, including the Nurse Practitioner, as appropriate.

New York-Presbyterian/Brooklyn Methodist Hospital, located in Prospect Park, is a 651-bed academic institution affiliated with Weill Cornell Medicine, with a history of caring for residents throughout Brooklyn and the surrounding communities for over 135 years. The hospital’s academic programs include nine graduate medical education residency programs and six fellowship programs.

The salary range for this position is $165k to $200k. This compensation range does not include our benefits and any incentive payments, based on quality measures and productivity, that may be applicable to this role.

The selected candidate will be eligible for an academic appointment at Weill Cornell Medical College. Academic rank will be commensurate with the candidate’s experience and credentials.
