Physician Affiliate Group of New York (PAGNY) is adding a Trauma Surgeon to the group at NYC Health + Hospitals/Lincoln

Opportunity Details
  • Perform advanced and highly specialized surgical procedures in acute care, general surgery, and trauma surgery, including surgical critical care.
  • Provide trauma call coverage and contribute to the SICU, Trauma, and Acute Surgery services, while maintaining a general surgery elective practice.
  • Supervise, teach, and mentor house staff, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, and medical students as part of a collaborative surgical team.
  • Participate in weekly staff conferences.
  • Support the maintenance and improvement of clinical performance standards for physicians and other professional staff within the service.
  • In‑house call coverage required; hours may vary each week.
Qualifications
  • Board Eligibility or Board Certification in General Surgery and Trauma/Surgical Critical Care by the American Board of Surgery.
  • Completion of a Trauma/Surgical Critical Care fellowship.
  • Must be comfortable with Acute Care Surgery, Trauma Call, and SICU coverage.
  • Active and unrestricted NY State physician license.
  • Experience with robotic surgery a plus.
  • Research interest/experience a plus.

Wages and Benefits include:

  • Annual Base Salary: $371,750
    * based on a 40‑hour work week. Additional compensation available for required call coverage.
  • Estimated annual compensation for 16 call coverage hours worked per week: $133,253.
  • Projected bonus of up to $40,000 (based on previous year’s average), contingent upon meeting quality and productivity targets.
  • 401(k) Company Contribution:
    Employees are immediately vested in a 3% company contribution of base earnings. After one year of service, employees receive an additional 7% contribution. No employee match is required.
  • Annual Continuing Medical Education (CME) Reimbursement.
  • Generous Annual Paid Time Off (PTO):
    Vacation, Sick, Holiday, and CME days.
  • Medical, Prescription, and Dental Coverage:
    Top‑tier plans with employee contributions significantly below market rates.

    Equal to 2x your salary (up to a maximum of $300,000) provided at no cost to you. Additional voluntary life and AD&D coverage is available for you and your family.

    Position may be eligible for loan forgiveness through certain state or federal programs.
  • Medical Malpractice Coverage (equivalent to occurrence‑based):
    Provided at no cost to the employee.
  • Healthcare and Dependent Care Flexible Spending Accounts (FSAs).
  • Pre‑tax employee‑paid contributions for commuting expenses.
  • Visa sponsorship will be considered for this position.
