A hospital in a major metropolis is seeking a fellowship-trained complex spine neurosurgeon to further develop their spine program. The group is ready to welcome new and experienced neurosurgeons alike and is eager to provide mentorship for younger neurosurgeons. There is immediate volume available due to the amicable departure of their current spine surgeon.
The health system includes three hospitals and more than 80 community-based practices and outpatient centers. Its anchor is one of the largest independent teaching hospitals in the nation. Its programs rank best in the country for patient outcomes, including its Neurosciences Institute and Cancer Center. The health system is dedicated to fostering a culture of innovation and focusing on clinical excellence with a patient-centered approach.
PositionHighlights:
- Immediate volume of complex spine cases available including scoliosis, spinal oncology, revisions, and degenerative spine
- ~200 cases first year, 250+ when established
- ~90+% spine case mix
- General call schedule is 1:3-4
- PAs handle all consults on general call
- O-Arm and Globus Excelsius 3D available
- OR Block time is available
- Research funding available and active clinical trials
- Clinical faculty appointment possible at partner institution
- Ability to teach medical students, non-neurosurgery residents and fellows, and PAs
- 11 neurosurgical PAs do consults and assist in OR and do all floor work
- Catchment size: 3 million people
- 13-bed Surgical ICU
